Breaking News as Posted on Facebook Notes by Billy Currington “PEOPLE ARE CRAZY” GOES #1 & MARKS FOURTH CHART TOPPER FOR CURRINGTON NASHVILLE, TN – Multi platinum-selling Mercury Nashville recording artist Billy Currington will perform on CBS’ the “Late Show with David Letterman” Wednesday, August 19. Currington’s single “People Are Crazy” tops the charts this week, marking his fourth #1 and fastest-rising single of his career. “Crazy” is the second #1 from Currington’s album Little Bit Of Everything, which is at #10 on Billboard’s Current Country Albums Chart and in the Top 40 on the Top 200. Album sales have been on the rise for 11 of the last 13 weeks and “Crazy” skyrocketed to the top taking only 19 weeks to best the list.
Currington made his country debut with his ‘03 self-titled album that spawned the powerful Top 10 hit “Walk A Little Straighter” and the Top 5 smash “I Got A Feelin’.” Then superstar Shania Twain heard the Georgia native’s soulful voice and chose him for the hit duet “Party for Two.” On his second and platinum-certified album Doin’ Somethin’ Right, Currington delivered an even more mature Southern sound of blues-tinged country songs including “Why, Why, Why,” which he co-wrote, and #1 hits “Good Directions” and “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right,” the latter for which he won “Hottest Video of the Year” at the ’06 CMT Music Awards. October 14 ’08 his third album titled Little Bit Of Everything was released, and first single “Don’t” produced a #1 hit, as well as the second “People Are Crazy”. He’s co-written 19 of the 33 tracks off his three albums, has been nominated for a Country Music Association award, two Academy of Country Music awards and performed on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, “Good Morning America” and “MARTHA”. He’s sold nearly 1.6 million albums, toured with Brad Paisley, Sara Evans and Trace Adkins and been chosen as People magazine’s “Sexiest Man”. He is currently on tour with Sugarland.
