Concert Review - Joes's Bar - May 31st, 2008

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that the sold out Joe’s Bar crowd was made up of mostly females that came to the venue for the sole purpose of seeing Billy Currington up close and personal. If you have ever seen Billy perform in the past then you know that he is a man of very few words, doesn’t focus on the frills aspect of his show, and just lays it all out on the stage. This was the case as the lights dimmed over the stage and Billy and crew walked out to the center and kicked into their set with current single “Tangled Up.”
The audience bounced and sang along with Billy as he strummed his guitar center stage and made eye contact with just about everyone in the front rows. He wasted no time kicking into his set as he followed with “I Wanna Be A Hillbilly,” and as the final chorus rolled around he stepped back from the microphone and was met with the shouts of “I Wanna Be A Hillbilly” from the crowd. He continued rolling through his set without taking a moment to even address the crowd with his hit single “Why Why Why.”
Billy cracked a smile as the song came to a close and he asked, “where’s all my crazy women at?”...
